Description Michael Cummings (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-07-26 06:38:24 UTC
should be pub/CPAN, not pub/perl/CPAN - the perl subdir doesn't exist...
Comment 1 Spider (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-07-26 07:02:07 UTC
Check -r4 as well then. -r5 is still masked
Comment 2 Michael Cummings (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-07-26 07:19:22 UTC
-r4 has the same typo. It is possible that this was a change on the cpan end -
in either case, the ebuilds will fail to grab the target tar ball since the
location is invalid. Discovered while working on an ebuild for 5.8.0 (ticket
5091)

make it work :)

Corrected two typos

Looks like cpan changed the ftp path from /pub/perl/CPAN to /pub/CPAN. Also
corrected the -r* in the file

I included both the -r4 and -r5 since r5 is masked. One depending question is
whether ftp'ing to ftp.perl.org is round robinned, and depending on where you
end up maybe /pub/perl/CPAN is valid, but my last three oh so random tries all
came back that /pub/CPAN is the only valid path...but then, I could be wrong
(wouldn't be the first time). If nothing else, this bug is there for those who
can't get the ebuild to download the tar ball :)

okay, I got it.
