vamps - eVAporate DVD compliant Mpeg2 Program Stream it reads a VOB, extracts wanted streams (video, audio, subtitle), requants the video it with a given factor and outputs the resulting new VOB in a single pass! You don't need tcextract/tcmplex! You can also embed the vamps command into your dvdauthor.xml It was a project of the german computer magazine c't, hence the $HOMEPAGE is only in german. But the READMEs are in english, so this should be not a problem. vamps can also be used by tools like lxdvdrip (see #47801). ups, there's another ebuild in #36820 (quite old). But I checked the quality of the other ebuild, and mine is better/more complete and avoids the problem with media-video/lsdvd. So please use mine... ;-)
