Currently only latest snapshots are provided: http://distfiles.gentoo.org/releases/snapshots/current/ But people updating from old setups could need older snapshots as explained at: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Upgrading_Gentoo#Upgrading_from_older_systems As you can read there, people will be forced to rely on external resources. At least, currently swift is kindly providing them and we can trust them but, what will occur if, in the future, he stops doing that work and people need to rely on "unofficial" snapshots they could find across internet? From my point of view the current swift work should be done "officially" to ensure trusted snapshots will be provided "forever". Current site for swift's snapshots is: https://dev.gentoo.org/~swift/snapshots/ Thanks a lot
We definitely cannot provide the snapshots on the mirrors (as it costs too much to cache them there.) We can potentially provide older snapshots. I'm curious what ppl would need for this though (how old, how long between snapshots?) Can you provide more information? Swift is gone and their snapshots are gone as well. -A
