Would be nice to bump as 4.1.x does not crossbuild(ppc in my case)
I think this is fixed in 4.2

Turns out that 4.1 cross builds if you add LD=$(get..LD), similar to what is
done to CC

A direct bump to perf-4.4 would be nice. I've tried a quick&dirty rename of the ebuild, but got a lot of errors.

Well, it was not easy to figure out how to deal with a lot of errors, and to catch up with Makefile changes. Anyway, I finally succeed to write updated ebuild and just pushed it.
