In bug 201917, VIA padlock support was disabled because of a bug in libgcrypt (around version 1.4.0). The NEWS file says that in version 1.4.5:

> * Fixed sigill during Padlock detection on old CPUs.

I believe that was the fix for bug 201917.


Removing 

>         --disable-padlock-support # bug 201917

from the ebuild shows

>         Try using Padlock crypto:  yes

in the build log.

I see appropriate instructions ("xstore-rng" and "repz xcrypt-ecb") in libgcrypt.so and all tests in the test suite pass on my VIA C7 (with padlock support) and on another x86/amd64 system without padlock support.

Please remove --disable-padlock-support.
