Description Salim Fadhley 2004-07-03 05:41:22 UTC
Bttrack is a daemon type process that co-ordinates a bittorrent. The normal way to invoke it is as follows:

nohup bttrack.py --port 8082 --dfile ~sal/tracker/tracker.dfile --favicon ~sal/tracker/favicon.ico &

This isn not particularly dificult, however it would be even cooler if the standard Gentoo bittorrent ebuild came with an init.d script (that works with conf.d), that would allow tracker to be automatically invoked at boot-time.

python herd, I believe bittorrent is your baby? If you don't want to handle this bug, just assign it back and I'll try to take care of it soon.

we only maintain it because no one did before, and only because its in python. so if you guys could take it, that would be great!

Added bttrack init script to bittorrent and bittornado latest unstable versions, please test them, I tried to include a few neat options that I saw in the configuration. Thanks for the idea, it's now in portage :)
Python herd: I went ahead and moved maintainership of bittorrent over to net-p2p. If you didn't want me to do that, feel free to move it back- I just thought I should give you a little notice.
