Comment 2 Peter Johanson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-07-02 12:52:51 UTC
For now, please add "gnome" to your USE variables and re-emerge gtk-sharp. As portage can not do DEPEND based on a package being compiled with a needed USE flag, I will soon be adding a gtk-sharp-1.0-r1 that makes most of the USE flag options *not* behind USE flags, but hard deps instead.

This sucks, i know, but most of these depends are needed for the most common applications (monodevelop/monodoc/etc) to work anyway.

If anybody has a better idea to solve this dependancy problem, speak up now.
Comment 3 Peter Johanson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-07-04 10:14:54 UTC
Okay, i've just added a check in the ebuild for gnome-sharp being built, and if it's isn't available, dies with an informative message. This is the best we can do until portage supports USE based dependencies. Marking LATER for when this ability is in portage.
