Description M. Creidieki Crouch 2004-07-01 18:19:49 UTC
Hi,

I was on the main Gentoo page, and I clicked "View CVS repository", which took me to the ViewCVS page (URL above). However, I can't figure out from this page how to find files I'm looking for. The ViewCVS page says that there are query features, but there aren't any options for that on the page. Would it be possible to provide a link on the page to some documentation about how the Gentoo CVS repository is organized, and/or how to find specific files? For example, I'm interested in editing the "equery" script, and I'd like to find the CVS version, but I have no idea how to find equery in the repository.

There is no real policy on how files are stored in the Gentoo CVS. Even senior developers need to dig their way through the various places before they find what they are looking for.
