gnocky is a gtk2 based GUI for gnokii. It looks much more pretty than old xgnokii. This is very early reliease - but it works great :) Hope you will find it userfull. Ebuild is based on the one from the previous version - http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49333 Regards, Przemek

there was no need to open a separate bug report -- it would have been more expedient to just attach your updated ebuild to the old one.
Ok. Gonna remember that. Regards, Przemek

This ebuild does not compile with actual stable version of gnokii (0.5.10) and probably neither with 0.6.x. Upstream contacted.
upstream did not responded. closing this bug for now. feel free to reopen with a new ebuild if a new version pops out. of course, before reopening, I must ask you to test the new ebuild against stable version of gnokii.
Created attachment 53413 [details, diff] patch for use of gthread in Makefile
Created attachment 53415 [details, diff] updated ebuild with gthread patch Hi, compiling didn't work on my box. I found this posting to be helpful: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gtk-list/2000-February/msg00344.html "Note: To use g_thread_init() in your program, you have to link with the libraries, that the command "glib-config --libs gthread" outputs. This is not the case for all the other thread related functions of GLib. Those can be used without having to link with the thread libraries." On my box this happens: glib-config --libs gthread -L/usr/lib -lgthread -lglib -lpthread So I patched src/Makefile after ./configure. I think I messed the ebuild real bad because I can't figure out how to use epatch. Have a look please. When will gnocky make it into portage? Thanks Sebastian
Tough luck. Gnocky doesn't run anyway ;) gnocky (gnocky:23417): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_convert_with_fallback: assertion `str != NULL' failed segfault Argh :) Sebastian
