Description Heitzso 2004-07-01 06:25:06 UTC
Blackdown java jdk (latest, late June 2004) crashed ugly when opening a zip file.
Also crashes ugly other places in my code. Same code runs just great with gentoo's IBM's JVM (Classic VM (build 1.4.1, J2RE 1.4.1 IBM build cxia321411-20030930 (JIT enabled: jitc))) and Sun's (1.4.2_03 and 1.4.2_04) JVM on Windows. I pulled Blackdown off my box and java-config'ed IBMs. Then recently Blackdown came back down during an "emerge -u world" and took over from IBM. That's what is broken. When I have official gentoo IBM JDK on my box I do _NOT_ want Blackdown's buggy JVM to take over.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

What does /var/cache/edb/virtuals show on the lines for virtual/jdk or any other java related virtuals? (There are sometimes issues relating to the order of the packages that provide virtuals)

Comment 2 Jochen Maes (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-07-28 03:13:37 UTC
This isn't a gentoo java issue. It is a virtuals issue (b lackdown taking over ibm) or an blackdown issue (blackdown crashes).

please respond andy's question.
If no response given in 2 weeks i'll suppose this is fixed.

greetings
