what does
$ grep dehypht-x-2012-05-30 /etc/texmf/language.d*/*

outputs on your system ?
Comment 2 Kilian 2015-08-25 16:29:42 UTC
This is the output:

% grep dehypht-x-2012-05-30 /etc/texmf/language.d*/*
/etc/texmf/language.dat.d/language.texlive-langgerman.dat:german-x-2012-05-30 dehypht-x-2012-05-30.tex
/etc/texmf/language.dat.lua.d/language.texlive-langgerman.dat.lua:              loader = 'dehypht-x-2012-05-30.tex',
/etc/texmf/language.def.d/language.texlive-langgerman.def:\addlanguage{german-x-2012-05-30}{dehypht-x-2012-05-30.tex}{}{2}{2}
/etc/texmf/language.def.d/language.texlive-langgerman.def:\addlanguage{german-x-latest}{dehypht-x-2012-05-30.tex}{}{2}{2}

what version of dev-texlive/texlive-langgerman do you have installed ?
Comment 4 Kilian 2015-09-20 14:59:06 UTC
dev-texlive/texlive-langgerman is not installed on my system. Maybe some dependencies are not as they should be?

then nothing owns those files, right ?
/etc/texmf/language.dat.d/language.texlive-langgerman.dat
/etc/texmf/language.dat.lua.d/language.texlive-langgerman.dat.lua
/etc/texmf/language.def.d/language.texlive-langgerman.def

if so, please remove them manually as your package manager seems to have failed to remove them when removing texlive-langgerman, and this is what is causing your issue

Yes, those files are not owned by any package. So the removal indeed fixes the problem. Thank you!
