After installing I see:

 * Before starting logstash-forwarder create config file at
 *
 *   /etc/logstash-forwarder/logstash-forwarder.conf
 *
 * See example in /usr/share/doc/0.4.0 directory. You can remove
 * -quiet from logstash-forward arguments in /etc/conf.d/logstash-forwarder to
 * until you get working configuration. Search syslog for errors.

There is no such directory as /usr/share/doc/0.4.0.

Just reading https://devmanual.gentoo.org/ebuild-writing/variables/ and it seems like:

PF - Full package name, ${PN}-${PVR}, for example vim-6.3-r1.

So we can probably use this instead of:

elog "See example in /usr/share/doc/${PN}-${PVR} directory. You can"
