The php-gtk ebuild tries to add the php_gtk.so extension to both the mod_php and php ini file. With the extension there, apache seg faults at random while running php scripts. I'm upto date with apache2. Portage 2.0.50-r8 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.3.3, glibc-2.3.3.20040420-r0, 2.6.5-gentoo-r1) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.5-gentoo-r1 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2200+ Gentoo Base System version 1.4.16 distcc 2.13 i686-pc-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [disabled] ccache version 2.2 [disabled] Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.59-r3 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.8.3 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -O2 -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="gcc3" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /etc/tomcat /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/config /var/qmail/alias /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/init.d /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -O2 -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs fixpackages sandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://www.mirror.ac.uk/sites/www.ibiblio.org/gentoo/ ftp://gentoo.mirrors.pair.com/" MAKEOPTS="-j4" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/home/usr/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.europe.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="3dnow acl alsa apache2 apm avi berkdb cdr crypt cups curl encode esd firebird flash foomaticdb freetds gd gdbm gif gtk2 hardenedphp imap imlib innodb ipv6 jpeg ldap libg++ libwww mad maildir mbox mmx moznocompose moznoirc moznomail moznoxft mpeg mpeg4 mysql ncurses oav oci8 odbc pam pdflib perl php png postgres ppds qt readline samba sasl slang snmp spell ssl svga tcltk tcpd tiff truetype virus-scan x86 xml xml2 zlib"
fixed in cvs. you'll need to manually remove the old extension= from your old non-CLI php ini files.
