Description José Romildo Malaquias 2015-07-28 12:04:15 UTC
Please add Monoid to portage.

Monoid is customizable and optimized for coding with bitmap-like sharpness at 15px line-height even on low res displays.

Updated ebuild.

I've put this ebuild in my overlay and am currently using it. Would you like to proxy-maintain with me if I put it in the tree? Would you mind asking upstream about marking releases so we can get versions in the tree as well? Let me know; otherwise, I'm fine leaving it in my overlay as well since it's a live ebuild.

The fonts team would be happy to commit a versioned ebuild. We prefer live ebuilds to stay in overlays. We would also prefer to not have a hard dependency on fontforge.

I think we could rename (with version) and mirror upstream's release archive, until upstream can be convinced to do versioned releases (which unfortunately is not that common in the fonts community).

Asked upstream for versioned releases: https://github.com/larsenwork/monoid/issues/110

Upstream now provides versioned archive releases!

Thanks! Just commited it to the tree.

Can we just generate the font files and mirror those ourselves, if upstream does not release those?

Ok, I will package and mirror the compiled files.

Done. Bumped version to 0.61, and new version doesn't need fontforge anymore.
