Description anonymiss 2015-07-26 00:52:34 UTC
The ebuild of newsbeuter might benefit from the diffs/patches linked in the archlinux bugzilla (https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/44421?project=5), which in turn links to https://github.com/akrennmair/newsbeuter/pull/168/files .

I couldn't test locally since I switched to my own newsbeuter-9999 ebuild.

podbeuter 2.8 could cope with my rather large newsbeuter db, 2.9 segfaults when trying to download entries in podbeuter.

The segfault seems to occur whenever one attempt to download any file with podbeuter.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Queue a podcast file from newsbeuter
2) Launch podbeuter
3) Either press 'd' to download the first file, or 'a' to download all.
4) A segmentation fault occurs.

This seems to be fixed by https://github.com/akrennmair/newsbeuter/pull/168/files as mentioned, however this commit is from April 2015, whereas the tarball ebuild relies on seems to be created from an earlier version (19 Feb 2015).

Fix segfault in podbeuter

The pull request has not been integrated to the latest stable branch (newsbeuter-2.9). You can use the patch in attachment waiting for the fix from upstream to be merged, putting it in the /etc/portage/patches folder.

Fixed in 2.9-r1.
