Description Markus 2015-07-20 10:32:53 UTC
Installation of libva-intel-driver with USE flag wayland crashes with:
x11-libs/libva-intel-driver-1.6.0 Makefile:1382: *** missing separator.

fixed it by adding a tab in front of the line:
/usr/share/wayland/wayland-scanner.mk

needs to be done in two files line 1382:
/var/tmp/portage/x11-libs/libva-intel-driver-1.6.0/work/libva-intel-driver-1.6.0-abi_x86_64.amd64/src/Makefile
/var/tmp/portage/x11-libs/libva-intel-driver-1.6.0/work/libva-intel-driver-1.6.0-abi_x86_32.x86/src/Makefile

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. USE="wayland" emerge x11-libs/libva-intel-driver
Actual Results:
installation crashes

I'd blame the updated wayland-automagic patch...

yes that thing is cursed
Comment 5 Michał Górny archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2015-07-24 15:10:54 UTC
Don't worry, I've got a working patch now. Submitted upstream already, and will commit it in a minute.

+ 24 Jul 2015; Michał Górny <mgorny@gentoo.org>
+ files/libva-intel-driver-1.6.0-wayland-automagic.patch:
+ Fix wayland-automagic patch to handle both USE=wayland and USE=-wayland (with
+ installed and uninstalled wayland) properly. Bug #555440.

Long story short, you can't mix AC_SUBST_FILE (from wayland-scanner.m4) and AC_SUBST. I've also fixed implicit disable when wayland is not found for upstream.
