sys-fs/eudev-3.1.2 (currently stable) needs at least sys-apps/hwids-20150417 for keyboard hwdb support.  Please stabilize once either bug 555204 is resolved (for backwards compatibility with older udev's) or new enough udev and systemd are stabilized.

bug 555204 needs to be resolved, or new enough udev and systemd's are stabilized.  IIRC that means udev/systemd-220 or newer but I'm just guessing as to the version at this point and I don't have time to check which version of udev it is that eudev-3.1.2 aligns to.

I would have no problem on trying to stabilize a newer systemd... but I am unsure about how udev and eudev are running :/

Eudev is fine.  I don't know the state of sys-fs/udev though; I think the ~arch package might need to be stabilized but I hven't been keeping up and my memory's too fuzzy.  That said, I believe the fix in bug 555204 was applied to the ebuild(s) and there have been no adverse reports.

looks like a newer version was stabilized for this (and all udev providers)
