Description Shaun Crampton 2004-06-28 14:53:09 UTC
When using the ati-driversfor opengl I get lockups all the time in xfree. Mouse moves on the screen but the display is not refreshed and the keyboard/clicks are not responded to.

Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge xfree, ati-drivers
2. switch to ati drivers via opengl-update
3. set up XFree via fglrx config
4. set Opengloverlay to on or opengl just renders garbage

I also experiences these freezes. Each time, the freeze seems to be triggered by scrolling quickly in Mozilla Firefox. After the freeze, the mouse cursor moves but cannot click on anything. Keyboard does not respond and I cannot kill X by CTRL-ALT-Backspace. However, I can logon remotely through SSH and kill X.

I had the same problems but fixed it now.

Try setting "UseInternalAGPGART" in XF86Config to "no".

Please reopen if that doesn't stop the problem.
