The new x11-drivers/xf86-input-vmmouse-13.1.0 has broken mouse pointer in multi-screenmode. Downgrading to 13.0.0-r1 makes it work again. This is VMware-Workstation 11 on Win7 host and Gentoo VM, using app-emulation/open-vm-tools-9.10.0.2476743 with USE="xinerama" x11-drivers/xf86-video-vmware-13.1.0 x11-base/xorg-server-1.17.2 x11-base/xorg-drivers-1.17 Also 13.0.0-r1 always had the bug when crossing screen boarders on a multi-screen setup the mouse pointer disappears for 1 sec (https://github.com/vmware/open-vm-tools/issues/14). Annoying but usable. I'm not sure if the tools are involved in these issues at all. However switching xf86-input-vmmouse definitly reveals this bug. Switching to x11-drivers/xf86-input-vmmouse-13.1.0 makes the mousepointer loose focus giving back the pointer to the host. That means pressing Ctrl+R in terminals makes the VM hard-reset. Clicking inside the VM to gain focus makes the pointer jump somewhere else. This is not usable anymore. I have masked x11-drivers/xf86-input-vmmouse-13.1.0 to make the VM usable again.
arm stable, all arches done.
(In reply to Markus Meier from comment #1) > arm stable, all arches done. whoops, sorry wrong bug. reopening.
Version 13.1.0 is not loading the vmmouse driver at all, this problem has nothing to do with multiscreen. Please see bug #565838
