Description Paweł Rumian 2015-07-13 09:16:59 UTC
/etc/init.d/zfs is no longer present, instead upstream introduced separate:

zfs-zed
zfs-import
zfs-mount
zfs-share

These scripts work correctly on my system and seems they will stay as a permanent solution provided by upstream.

Therefore the info about adding zfs to boot runlevel should be changed to reflect the introduction of these separate scripts. More info here:
https://github.com/zfsonlinux/zfs/tree/master/etc/init.d

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge =sys-fs/zfs-9999
2.
3.

Thanks for this information.

After upgrading from sys-fs/zfs-kmod-0.6.4.2 to sys-fs/zfs-kmod-0.6.5.3 I had no idea why my ZFS datasets were not mounting on boot.

Paweł: My apologies for the late reply. This was fixed in 9999 on 2015-10-01.

Chicago: The pkg_postinst code should have automatically updated your system to use the new script. The only exception is if the old zfs script was not in the boot runlevel. In that case, messages would have been printed by the ebuild suggesting that they be added.
