Storage driver is btrfs.
Same result using overlayfs.
My first guess is kernel misconfiguration. Could you download: https://github.com/dotcloud/docker/blob/master/contrib/check-config.sh and run it?
So you're right, I did not have CONFIG_BLK_CGROUP enabled, and everything works well if it is enabled. The thing is that the ebuild does not make any mention of it. Also you script describes it as optional, which does not seem to be the case on version 1.7. So the resolution might be to just add BLK_CGROUP to CONFIG_CHECK. Thanks a lot!
