Comment 1 Glenn Morse 2004-07-08 13:26:27 UTC
Is there a way to fix this? Since I emerged xmms-1.2.10-r5, I just get "Segmentation Fault", which isn't very helpful. I tried removing /usr/lib/xmms/General/libjoy.*, to no effect. -r4 worked perfectly, but now it's no longer in portage, so I don't have a media player :(
Comment 2 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-07-08 16:28:46 UTC
Glen: I'm not sure what you mean by "I tried removing libjoy.* to no effect". If you remove those libs, then they can't be activated and thus no segfault. Are youu experiencing a different bug? If so, please open a new bug report.
Comment 3 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-07-08 16:32:54 UTC
The only changes between -r4 and -r5 are "Allow NULL titles to be passed to xmms_charset_recode_id3()", BTW...

Comment 4 Glenn Morse 2004-07-10 10:37:18 UTC
OK, maybe this is a different bug then. I'm not exactly sure how to get more
detailed information out of xmms. All I get is "Segmentation fault" with no
further info. I agree it doesn't sound like the change in -r5 would be fatal,
but I've re-emerged it several times to no avail.
Comment 5 Glenn Morse 2004-07-12 15:05:52 UTC
OK, never mind, all fixed. I noticed that my nVidia drivers also upgraded
(6106), and a forum member suggested doing a "USE="-opengl" emerge xmms"
which fixed everything up nice. A completely unrelated issue, but it's
interesting xmms suddenly had a couple bugs.
Comment 6 Andrew Bevitt 2004-07-17 00:09:53 UTC
Glenns is the TLS issue, fixed with nvidia-glx-1.0.6106-r1 (just to clarify)
Comment 7 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-09-30 16:13:36 UTC
fixed in -r6
