Actual Results:
dmesg shows oops and this is lsmod output:

*NOT* a security bug, it's a *HARDENED* bug
Comment 2 Brandon Hale (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-06-30 06:07:49 UTC
Please try to reproduce this with h-d-s-2.6.7
Comment 3 Priit Laes (IRC: plaes) 2004-07-02 02:23:08 UTC
Ok.. happened with hardened-dev-sources-2.6.7-r1 too.
One workaround would be disablind module loading in kernel.

Anyone wants a dot.config?
Comment 4 Kevin F. Quinn (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-23 10:56:48 UTC
Is this problem still extant? If so, it would be worth building the relevant modules into the kernel to see if the problem is specific to the modularisation.

FWIW 3c59x loads fine as a module on one of my machines, with hardened-dev-sources-2.6.7-r7.

From the sounds of comment #4 this bug is resolved. Reopen if otherwise.
