Ok.. happened with hardened-dev-sources-2.6.7-r1 too. One workaround would be disablind module loading in kernel. Anyone wants a dot.config?
Is this problem still extant? If so, it would be worth building the relevant modules into the kernel to see if the problem is specific to the modularisation. FWIW 3c59x loads fine as a module on one of my machines, with hardened-dev-sources-2.6.7-r7.
From the sounds of comment #4 this bug is resolved. Reopen if otherwise.
