install-amd64-minimal-20150625.iso does not support x2apic enabled. Seems like a minor fix unless x2apic support enabled invalidates install on non-x2apic systems. This is more painful in a hosted environment like IBM's SoftLayer where BIOS changes to turn x2apic on or off require opening support tickets. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.enable x2apic in bios 2.Attempt to boot install-amd64-minimal-20150625.iso 3.Watch panic occur Actual Results: Kernel panic recommending user disable x2apic in bios Expected Results: worked with x2apic enabled
I'll have to update the kernel config, as this is the first time I've heard about x2apic.

Closing as we've built a few CDs since.
