Please attach the build log as well.

Incidentally though I found this bug running into it setting up a gentoo VM for a colleague of mine. The build log is at http://download.sumptuouscapital.com/gentoo/2015-06_chris_virtualbox_guest_addition_build.log.txt

Thanks for attaching. Is it just me or is this both 7z and gzipped?

Anyways.. seems to be same failure as I'm experiencing, indeed.
Comment 5 Petr Vokac 2015-06-30 14:17:18 UTC
emerge-virtualbox-guest-additions-log.txt.zz
is output of
gzip emerge-virtualbox-guest-additions-log.txt

I renamed it when I struggled with bugzilla gui, which said that
gzip is not allowed item.
Comment 6 Vasco Steinmetz 2015-07-05 10:27:51 UTC
Same issue here on a 32bit VM running kernel 3.18.x, gcc 4.8.x.
Comment 7 Peter Wilmott (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2015-07-13 10:51:56 UTC
This looks like a duplicate of 553436. I think the kernel version is a red herring and the real cause is gcc.

Build logs for gcc-4.8 and gcc-4.9 attached.

There is also a gcc bug indicating that this is expected behavior in gcc-4.8 : https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=49718

Please reopen if this is still a problem on current versions
