I'm having problems with 9.10.0 release, and I observe that 9.10.2 is available: http://sourceforge.net/projects/open-vm-tools/files/open-vm-tools/stable-9.10.x/ Reproducible: Always
What problems do you have ith 9.10.0 Eric?
Sorry, I should have included a link in the first place. Here's the post I put on the forum: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1020910-highlight-.html
I don't know if p2822639 fixes it, but with the current revision in portage (p2476743), the kmod cannot be compiled against kernel 4.1.1 (it does work with kernel 4.0.7 though) Which is especially sad because kernel 4.1 will be a long term support kernel. I would welcome a bump just because I'm hoping it will support the new kernel :-)
Further details for my current failure - looks like open-vm-tools is not reporting an IP address to the ESX host. Hoping an upgrade will fix that issue.
Sorry for the delay. +*open-vm-tools-9.10.2_p2822639 (06 Aug 2015) + + 06 Aug 2015; Mike Gilbert <floppym@gentoo.org> + +open-vm-tools-9.10.2_p2822639.ebuild: + Version bump. Remove the modules USE flag; people can install open-vm-tools- + kmod themselves.
Thanks for updating. Did not solve the compilation problems with Kernel 4.1 though.
