the dhcpcd in the 1.2 install cd throws the following errors : dhcpd[128]: dhcpconfig: open/write/close : No such file or directory dhcpd[128]: dhcpconfig: fopen : No such file or directory although it gets the ip from the dhcp server and updates the /etc/resolv.conf and also the default route. but this error is shown. any ways to suppress them or get them rectified.
did you run dhcpcd inside the chroot eviron or the root created by the cdrom ? if you're in the cdrom root, thats normal, it doesnt matter ... /etc/dhcpc/ doesnt exist and so when the dhcpcd client tries to read /etc/dhcpc/dhcpcd-ethX.{cache,info}, and while the client may handle the missing files when first run, it doesnt handle the missing dir (open calls return a diff error value when the path doesnt exist than we just the file doesnt exist)
the error message should be documented on the installation instructions, if it is expected.
The install doc actually does say "If you receive dhcpConfig warnings, don't panic; the errors are most likely cosmetic. Skip down to Network testing below." I didn't want to be more specific because the errors tend to change subtlely as the dhcpcd version changes.

It's already mentioned in the manual. Closing. Thanks!
