Description Daniel Gulotta 2015-06-25 00:32:29 UTC
In gvim, if I am using the Adwaita gtk+ theme, and I do a vsplit while the window is maximized, then the cursor disappears and the last line is replaced by a gray bar. The program otherwise continues to work. Un-maximizing the window fixes the problem. The problem does not seem to occur with any other gtk+ themes.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set gtk+ theme to Adwaita
2. Maximize gvim
3. :vsplit
Actual Results:
cursor disappears, gray bar at bottom of screen

I cannot reproduce this on ~amd64 (gvim-7.4.738, gnome-themes-standard-3.16.2, gtk+-2.24.28-r1).

For reference: what versions of gvim, gtk+:2, gnome-themes-standard are you using? What desktop environment or window manager?

Please attach a screenshot showing the problem (maybe I misunderstood your description).

Comment 4 Daniel Gulotta 2015-06-25 14:24:41 UTC
I had been using gtk+-2.24.28-r1, gnome-themes-standard-3.14.2.3-r2, gvim-7.4.273 and Xfce 4.10. I upgraded to gnome-themes-standard-3.16 and gvim-7.4.738, but this did not fix the problem.

Using an xfwm4 theme other than the default one also fixes the problem.

Hi

Is this still an issue with Vim 8.0? Please file a bug upstream if it is. Thanks!
