Yes, but why are special permissions required recursively on the perl5 directory? Either this is an issue with the perl ebuild not setting permissions correctly, or the syncqt script is doing something it shouldn't... Furthermore, [5006:~]$ perl -e 'use File::Basename' [5007:~]$ echo $? 0 it seems perfectly possible to write a perl script using File::Basename, so that side of things looks as though it is working OK...
