Description Michael Jones 2015-06-14 08:50:20 UTC
x11-terms/terminology doesn't work properly when installed with elementary-1.12.2 / efl-1.12.2

The app works just fine with elementary / efl - 1.11.2, but with 1.12.2 the app doesn't get a window border, doesn't show up in the task bar, doesn't respond to keyboard, but does respond to (some) mouse behavior, such as clicking and dragging to highlight empty areas in the window. The program also stays on the screen, on top of every other application.

I'm really not sure how to diagnose this unless someone else is able to reproduce and confirm that it's not just my machine....

I'm using LXQT desktop normally, but I've also seen this happen on LXDE, XFCE, and Gnome 3.

Comment 3 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2015-08-06 03:53:01 UTC
which version of terminology ? can you test 0.8.0 and efl-1.15.0 ?
Comment 4 Michael Jones 2015-08-06 03:54:58 UTC
The version I reported this against was: x11-terms/terminology-0.7.0

Syncing portage now. Will recompile to new versions.
Comment 5 Michael Jones 2015-08-06 03:59:44 UTC
I just synced portage. I don't see an efl-1.15.0. Is my mirror out of date, or did you accidentally write the wrong version?
Comment 6 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2015-08-06 04:01:25 UTC
(In reply to Michael Jones from comment #5)

it was just committed. usually people don't respond immediately ;).
Comment 7 Michael Jones 2015-08-06 21:56:30 UTC
Can't build elementary 1.15.0, (will file a separate report)

Is there a different version I should try instead?

Comment 9 Michael Jones 2015-08-27 19:27:02 UTC
Also broken on armv7a-hardfp, with a NON-hardened profile.
Comment 10 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2015-09-19 00:46:08 UTC
terminology-0.9.1 is in the tree now w/elementary-1.15.1 you can try out
Comment 11 Michael Jones 2015-09-19 08:40:04 UTC
Nope. Can't compile elementary-1.15.1. See bug report I linked in above comment.

Comment 13 Michael Jones 2015-09-21 20:06:12 UTC
Nope. 9.1 still has the same problem.
Comment 14 Michael Jones 2015-12-01 18:49:34 UTC
Frankly, I don't know what happened to repair this, but over the last couple of months some package update has fixed terminology 0.9.1 on my system.
