Rhythmlet is a gDesklets sensor for Rhythmbox written in pure Python. It can retrieve cover images locally or from Amazon.com, has configurable display strings, playback controls, editable ratings (requires included patch), and a seek bar. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created attachment 34154 [details] An ebuild for the Rhythmlet gdekslet As is, this package won't work, it requires Rhythmbox to be patch to allow for extra CORBA calls. The patch is included in the source with rhythmlet. So before this could make it into portage, Rhythmbox 0.8.3 would need a -r1 bump that includes the CORBA patch. And I think I got all the dependencies in, that's just what the web site listed and everything is working fine for me.
Created attachment 35067 [details, diff] That's the patch from the rhythmlet distribution, slightly changed for gentoo. It must be copied in media-sound/rhythmbox/files
Created attachment 35069 [details] The ebuild, which uses the rhythmlet patch. the two files must be copied in usr/local portage tree and then the rhythmbox must be rebuilded, then rhythmlet will function properly
Created attachment 35101 [details, diff] updated Rhythmbox patch Revised Rhythmbox patch from newer Rhythmlet versions modified for Gentoo; see also: http://bugs.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=145327
Created attachment 35102 [details] ebuild for 0.3g-r2 Updated ebuild to use version 0.3g-r2 of Rhythmlet
I didn't need to patch this to get it to work, although I see the ratings patch in the archive. I might provide an ebuild without the patch first. Then add a revision with the ratings patch.
version 0.3g added to portage now, please post a new bug if you encounter problems with it.
