Description kavol 2015-05-20 15:01:59 UTC
I got some troubles starting monkeyd after fresh installation ...

Trying manually from the commandline I got:

# monkey
Monkey HTTP Server v1.5.5
Built : May 20 2015 16:19:41 (gcc 4.8.4)
Home : http://monkey-project.com
[2015/05/20 16:40:03] [ Error] Error: I can't log pid of monkey

Looking at the configfile, it seems the parameter value is invalid. After changing it, the server starts without any problem.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. grep PidFile /etc/monkeyd/monkey.conf

Actual Results:
    # PidFile:
    PidFile /var/tmp/portage/www-servers/monkeyd-1.5.5/work/monkey-1.5.5/logs/monkey.pid

Expected Results:
    # PidFile:
    PidFile /var/run/monkey.pid

Thanks for the report guys. This should be fixed in 1.5.6-r1. I'm going to start stabilization for it now and drop 1.5.5 and below when done. Please reopen this bug and make it a blocker for the stabilization request if this is still a problem. It is working for me.
