Description Navar 2015-05-14 01:26:46 UTC
media-libs/libgphoto2-2.5.5-1-r1 and 2.5.7 fail to connect on reading bytes from control transfer on Canon EOS 20D and perhaps other models. gp_port_usb_msg_read/gp_context_errors on debug.

Upstream patch on libusb1.c: http://sourceforge.net/p/gphoto/code/15384/

This applied fine to my localized 2.5.7-r1 copy and functionality was as expected.

I did not test this on libgphoto2-2.5.5.1-r1, which if I recall caused the connection issues after upgrading from 2.5.4-r2. This recent upgrade to 2.5.7 made me seek upstream resolution as above since the issue wasn't corrected.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Turn connected USB camera on in mate
2.or gphoto2 --summary --debug
3.
Actual Results:
1. No volume connection visible/made.
2. Initial errors in gp_ calls mentioned in description.

Expected Results:
Successful connection, volume showing.
