xosd is an X-On-Screen-Display library which prints text and a couple of simple widgets directly onto the X11 window screen for a short period of time. It comes bundled with osd_cat a small program to print a file to the screen using the xosd library. If you have your xmms USE variable set it will also install an xmms status plugin (I have made it so that this is no longer a seperate package unlike in v. 0.7.0). With version 1.0.0 other updates include much less buggy xmms plug-in code and a far more exhaustive list of man pages for the X library.
Created attachment 2515 [details] xosd and xmms-xosd ebuild
I will wait a bit before commiting this one, I want to commit the xmms plugin at the same and atm I can't do that.
This ebuild contains the xmms plug-in, it installs it as long as the xmms USE variable is set. I thought this would be more sensible and compact, if this is a problem email me and I will separate the two.
1.0.2 is out. I decided to keep the current scheme with seperate ebuilds.
