Let's have a look at that Makefile please. Attach it as text/plain. I suspect your auto* tools are broken. Might try remerging them and giving it another shot. Reopen with more info and the attached Makefile.

somehow, emerge -u world fixed the problem. frozen-bubble now runs fine.
