Description Alex Legler (RETIRED) archtester gentoo-dev Security 2015-04-30 10:25:00 UTC
Hello,

our monitoring indicates that your mirror rsync5.us.gentoo.org is outdated by 12 days now. Can you please look into that and report back on the bug?

Thanks!

The IP of the web/rsync front end box has changed to 129.21.171.72.

Can you change rsync5.us.gentoo.org to a cname that points to mirrors.rit.edu instead? That would be more robust for future changes.

We also enabled IPv6 for the mirrors service and apparently I'm being blocked upstream for my rsyncs. The IPv6 address of the box doing the rsyncs (kirby.rc.rit.edu) is 2620:8d:8000:15:260:ddff:fe44:7a79. I'm trying to get the AAAA record to take in our DNS setup but that is another issue.

Thanks
-paul

Sorry, no CNAMEs.

:7a79 is in the ACL now, kirby's v4 already was and still is.

Does that mean I can add 2620:8d:8000:15:225:90ff:fefd:344c as AAAA for rsync5.us.g.o?

Yup, that is the v6 address for mirrors.rit.edu. Feel free to add it.

Great, added as well.

Waiting for the monitoring to catch up to the fixes before closing the bug.
