Version 6.11 is available: http://vpython.org/contents/download_linux.html Reproducible: Always
Before making a full bump including a conversion bumping eclass & EAPI, I wonder is this package warrants a total name change, or package move. SRC_URI="http://sourceforge.net/projects/vpythonwx/files/6.11-release/vpython-wx-src.6.11.tgz/download which needs cleaning / reducing up to be saved to mirrors. setup( name='VPython', The package is no longer even called visual but comes now as VPython. I have never touched this package before and the last entry reads; *visual-5.74 (18 Jun 2012). It is also still py2 compatible only and comes with extra runtime deps. The version of boost will require updating and the conversion to use python-r1 appears fairly trivial. The name though could be stay with visual, vpython or even vpythonwx. Also the tarball unpacks directly into WORKDIR and would ideally require a re-tar to work well with portage and eclasses.
