Nope, I can save just fine, exact same version. The Resources Not Avaliable part in systrace makes me wonder if it's filesystem errors, permission errors, or anything like that. Resources could be refering to your memory load as well. I can see that sort of action causing a program to get killed.
a backtrace with debugging info would probably be more useful, but i can't reproduce the problem either
The problem must have been with my system, after reinstalling gedit works fine.
