I can reproduce the issue with search plugins (I guess it doesn't work, because they all disappeared).
might be a side effect too, but the search engine field won't work too and neither the menu bar nor the bookmarks toolbar can be (de-)activated again.
This has been addressed already. It is due to the fact that upstream is forcing jit for everyone. The change has been made in tree to reflect change for all users of gentoo jit is no enabled.
