Description Jory A. Pratt 2004-06-19 20:16:36 UTC
Trying to find out when glibc-2.3.4.20040605-r1.ebuild
is gonna be added to portage for ~x86 users or if there is away to keep from having the modified ebuild removed from local portage when emerge sync is run.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Ebuild compiles and runs without problem, patches apply as expected. On a side
not this entire system has been reemerged using emerge -euD world and has yet to
have any major problems other then java issues which should be upstreamed as
noted in bug report.

man make.conf

Look for the section on PORTDIR_OVERLAY

You're pretty brave to dive into such a critical library that is still masked.
I've created some very unhappy machines dabbling with this. And I have some that
its working just fine on. There are still a number of open issues with glibc not
even compiling properly.
