I've tried updating media-video/ffmpeg from 2.5.4 to 2.6.1, but update failed with the following error: The following REQUIRED_USE flag constraints are unsatisfied: cpu_flags_x86_sse? ( cpu_flags_x86_mmxext ) After checking ffmpeg-2.6.1.ebuild I think there might be an issue with X86_CPU_FEATURES_* mapping, because I don't really see what cpu_flags_x86_mmxext has to do with cpu_flags_x86_sse. It means if cpu_flags_x86_sse is enabled, the package also requires cpu_flags_x86_mmxext to be enabled.
Thanks for response Michael. I've found message on ffmpeg-devel regarding this same issue @ http://lists.mplayerhq.hu/pipermail/ffmpeg-devel/2015-February/169022.html. Response mentiones that mmxext in this particular case refers to the integer instructions introduced with sse, meaning (by my understanding) that mmxext is not required if you have support for sse. Could you please check again, because no modern cpu has support for mmxext, but most of them do support sse.
