$ cat /mnt/gen2/TmpDir/portage/net-misc/s3cmd-1.5.2/work/s3cmd-1.5.2/s3cmd.egg-info/requires.txt python-dateutil python-magic and from setup.py from setuptools import setup, find_packages install_requires = ["python-dateutil", "python-magic"] This is how to determine deps. setuptools is a DEP, the others are RDEPs. These are both in portage. DEPEND="${PYTHON_DEPS}" RDEPEND="" both need correcting. ${PYTHON_DEPS} is used when a python-r1 is inherited, not for distutils-r1. src_install() { S3CMD_INSTPATH_DOC="${EPREFIX}"/usr/share/doc/${PF} distutils-r1_src_install rm -rf "${ED}"/usr/share/doc/${PF}/${PN} || die 'rm failed' } distutils-r1_src_install will internally install to the "${EPREFIX}"/usr/share/doc/${PF} via the eclass. This whole src_install() appears un-needed. Without it; $ l /mnt/gen2/TmpDir/portage/net-misc/s3cmd-1.5.2/image//usr/share/doc/s3cmd-1.5.2/ NEWS.bz2 README.md.bz2 Igor Testen you need correct the ebuild with the above and submit a patch, otherwise I shall consider doing it myself. 10 days so far.
I'm seeing this too.
*s3cmd-1.5.2-r1 (31 Mar 2015) 31 Mar 2015; Ian Delaney <idella4@gentoo.org> +s3cmd-1.5.2-r1.ebuild, -s3cmd-1.5.2.ebuild: revbump; add missing deps and update install phase, all wrt to bug #543266, fixes said bug, remove broken ebuild I could have waited another week, but when yet another user adds comment reporting confirmation means active users are made to be dependent on broken ebuilds. The install phase could have been left but since the eclass had been updated it's apt to edit the phase to match. It still needed a manual over-ride to set it right. The s3cmd-1.5.2.ebuild need removal, it is unfit. While I. Testen is still officially the proxy maintainer, 'we' have not had reply since this was submitted now 17 days ago. In fact the ChangeLog cites no definitive contribution for years. This likely needs a review by the lead.
I much apologize for not replying earlier. As you rightfully point out, I did not and will not have time to take care of maintaining the package, so please feel free to take appropriate steps to find the new maintainer. Please let me know if there is an administrative step that I can perform in order to speed up the process.
That's fine Igor. Thanks for notifying us. Pinkbyte please note.
