the gcc project's newspage seems to lag in posting their releases. took two weeks the last time ( 3.4.0 ), and for 3.3.4 its also one week. I'm uploading an ebuild that compiled and installed gcc 3.3.4 on my machine, but i removed most of the gentoo-made patches. I also removed that manpage download, for there are no preprocessed 3.3.4 manpages available these days. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created attachment 33486 [details] gcc 3.3.4 ebuild
boost regression test shows 8 of 11 failures, and 9 of 13 warnings less than 3.3.3: http://home.arcor.de/alonsoschaich/cs-Linux-summary.html it shows only little ( < 1% ) performance increase against 3.3.3 hope it will be in portage during the next time. applications build by it ( currently i rebuilt most of KDE ) work fine, so i guess you could introduce it at least for x86.
Hey great and thanks. Mind remaking this from the 3.3.3-r6 base? Do that and I'll put it in portage as ~x86
Or martin will get this one ;)
Added.
when i try to update to this, i get this from portage: root@falso gcc # emerge -upv gcc-3.3.4.ebuild These are the packages that I would merge, in order: Calculating dependencies \ !!! all ebuilds that could satisfy "=sys-kernel/linux-headers-2.6*" have been masked. !!! possible candidates are: - sys-kernel/linux-headers-2.6.3-r1 (masked by: -* keyword) - sys-kernel/linux-headers-2.6.5 (masked by: -* keyword) - sys-kernel/linux-headers-2.6.7 (masked by: -* keyword) - sys-kernel/linux-headers-2.6.1 (masked by: -* keyword) - sys-kernel/linux-headers-2.6.6 (masked by: -* keyword) - sys-kernel/linux-headers-2.6.4 (masked by: -* keyword) !!!
