Apparently the file jdk-8u40-linux-x64.tar.gz changed slightly so the checksums now fail. I updated the manifest for only this file. BR, Max
The filesize and checksum in the manifest for jdk-8U40-linux-i586.tar.gz are also incorrect, causing installation to bail.
The rsync mirrors have an updated Manifest as of 13th March 2015. Please ignore my previous.

The archive link is there for the (hopefully short) period between them releasing a new version and us getting round to bumping it in the tree. I actually bumped it on the day of release this time, only for them to go and change the checksums a week later. I had to download 1.2GB all over again. This frustrated me. I may not bump it so quickly next time.
