Does deleting /root/.sversionrc and possibly /root/.openoffice/ help?
I don't have /root/.sversionrc and /root/.openoffice
*** Bug 54232 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
@Arnaud: Are you using Reiser4?
No, reiser 3, and openoffice-bin-1.1.1 install was ok
Arnaud: Could you try to unmerge OOo-bin 1.1.1 then look into /opt/OpenOffice.org if there is still something in there, if it is: Delete the whole dir (and tell me what was left), afterwards try to merge OOo 1.1.2 again
After unemerging openoffice-bin-1.1.1 , there whas only the empty dir /opt/OpenOffice.org/program I've deleted it, and now openoffice-bin-1.1.2 emerge successfully. Thanks for all your help
I second that. I had the same problem, did the same procedure (unmerge, remove dir, emerge) and now it WFM. Thanks

waited awile to say anything.. but Jackey Yang is having the exact same problem i had. Jackey could you paste your emerge info? I can't be because i fried my reiser4 partition and have to rebuild everything.

I had to unmerge earlier OpenOffice & clean up the OpenOffice directories in /opt/ & then the emerge worked.
unmerging 1.1.1, removing /opt/OpenOffice.org/, merging 1.1.2 also worked for me
marius, short of an addwrite is there a nice way to work around this quirky ooo-bin install?
portage team, we need your thoughts and advice.
i thought we established that this probably wasnt a portage bug but rather some obscure 'feature' of the OOo installer that tries to `rm -rf` some files in /
I've added addpredicts for both files to the OOo-ebuilds, could someone test if this works around the problem. @vapier: I think the question is, if there is a "nicer" solution to this problem
i still can not emerge oo-bin, i did fresh installation yesterday. oo-bin do not give any errors this time, but it hang there. i have no idea what is going on, i think i may try to install abiword instead.
Jackey: Did you try to uninstall the old version and manually remove the /opt/Openoffice.org dir?
I'm really really waiting for a sensible installation system comming with 2.0 ;-)
@pauldv: Let's just hope it REALLY comes with 2.0...
I had the same problem as described ("ACCESS DENIED unlink: /opt/OpenOffice.org/delme"). Removing /root/.sversionrc and /root/.openoffice worked for me (portage synced today).
If this is still an issue, I'd suggest looking for the 'delme' reference in the binaries/source. Use 'strings' and grep.
problem stopped happening when i redid my system a few months ago. Evidently it was having trouble removing something that none of you guys have mentioned.
We have done everything we can here closing
