When I try to run Baldur's Gate using (vanilla) Wine, it crashes before it even manages to open a window. It has the following trace before the crash: 0009:trace:virtual:NtMapViewOfSection handle=0x64 addr=0x50000000 off=000000000 size=0 access=4 0009: get_mapping_info( handle=0x64 ) 0009: get_mapping_info() = 0 { size_high=0, size_low=655360, protect=67, header_size=0, base=(nil), shared_file=(nil), shared_size=0, removable=0 } 0009: get_handle_fd( handle=0x64, access=00000000 ) 0009: *fd* 0x64 -> 29 0009: get_handle_fd() = 0 { fd=-1, type=1, flags=0 } 0009: set_handle_info( handle=0x64, flags=0, mask=0, fd=22 ) 0009: set_handle_info() = 0 { old_flags=1, cur_fd=22 } 0009:Ret kernel32.MapViewOfFileEx() retval=00000000 ret=40acb9cf 0009:err:dplay:DPLAYX_ConstructData : unable to map static data into process memory space (487) 0009:Ret PE DLL (proc=0x40ac00f0,module=0x40ab0000 L"dplayx.dll",reason=PROCESS_ATTACH,res=0x1) retval=0 0009:trace:module:process_attach (L"dplayx.dll",0x1) - END 0009:trace:module:process_attach (L"BGMain2.exe",0x1) - END 0009:err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\\Program Files\\Black Isle\\Baldur's Gate\\BGMain2.exe" failed, status c0000142 0009: *killed* exit_code=0 000a: *killed* exit_code=0 I get this problem with all Wine versions currently in portage. However, when using Mandrake 10.0, Baldur's Gate works flawlessly (Wine version 20040213), so I asume that this is a Gentoo specific bug. I hope this helps.
Sorry, we only do native games. I'm reassigning this to the WINE team.
which version of wine do you use ?
