Description Michael Mair-Keimberger (iamnr3) 2015-03-01 16:29:21 UTC
Hi,

Is it ok to remove those packages from tree? They are terrible outdated (last releases from 2006 and below). We could kill a few bugs with them: (see bug nr next to the package name).

net-p2p/gift #314359
last release 2004, one update 2014 - next update 2012, no eapi

net-p2p/gift-ares #537782
last release 2006, last update 2012, no eapi

net-p2p/gift-fasttrack	#537784
last release 2005, last update 2012, no eapi

net-p2p/gift-openft	#521598
last release 2005, last update 2012, no eapi

net-p2p/gift-gnutella	#521596
last release 2006, last update 2012, no eapi

net-p2p/giftcurs	#521600,#526422
last release 2005, last update 2012, no eapi

Also i guess sec-policy/selinux-gift is made for net-p2p/gift, which we could remove as well..

Hello Michael,

I find no alternative to use the ares galaxy network (which is still active). Probably we should keep net-p2p/gift-ares and its dependencies.
