After updating glibc to the latest version (2.3.3.20040420) mplayer stopped working (segmentation fault immediately after start, even if I just run 'mplayer --help'). I tried to recompile mplayer, but it didn't help. I'm not absolutely sure if it is because of the new glibc though. BTW, this has something to do with nvidia-opengl. If I switch back to the xfree opengl lib, mplayer works again.
so maybe the xfree guys can tell more about this?
What happens to the other applications using the nvidia opengl implementation?
It seems to affect all opengl applications. Howewer I found a workaround: installing the lates unstable version of nvidia-kernel and nvidia-glx (5636) seems to fix this problem.
Is this bug considered solved then, or do we need more evaluation here? If this bug is solved, please close it.
