I can't seem to find /etc/ethertypes on any of my Gentoo boxes. It should be a requirement when emerging the ebtables package. This file translates names to numbers, like IPV4 for 0x0800. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Whats this? ebtables installs /etc/ethertypes solar@simple / $ epm -q -l ebtables /sbin/ebtables /usr/share/man/man8/ebtables.8.gz /etc/ethertypes So whats the problem?
Weird - Its there now. Maybe it was missing in an older version? I've been reinstalling a bunch of stuff. I dunno, not important.
net-firewall/ebtables-2.0.9.2-r1 again does not install /etc/ethertypes
