I've been using Gentoo for years. I need to install a new system. I go to the various mirrors (I visited ALL of them!) and not a single stage3 tarball is present on any of them for the most recent few versions (12). The documentation mentions nothing about installing from a LiveDVD, but that's all that's available now. Please update your documentation or (I would rather) offer a stage3 tarball. A minimum install disk would be nice too.
That's for the AMD64, however, same case with x86-32.
The stage3 tarballs are not in the old version number directories. They exist in the autobuilds by date. An example URL of the latest is http://distfiles.gentoo.org/releases/amd64/autobuilds/current-stage3-amd64/ . You can replace with your mirror and arch as needed. Thank you.
